AN ONLINE MUSEUM EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO:

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was one of the worst workplace disasters in the history of New York City. It occurred on March 25, 1911, just minutes before the end of the day. 146 people died in the fire. Following the fire, women's unions led the charge to demand improved workplace safety legislation. Their work influenced the creations of laws that are now commonplace across the United States. The legacy of the fire will live on forever.
